My World#83 Kadayawan 2010: Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan
This year is the 25th year celebration of my city's Kadayawan Festival. One of the most popular festival in the country, it is a well-anticipated and well-attended event. For a local like me, it is a source of pride and joy to see the heritage and culture of my city and its indigenous tribes.
Indak-indak sa Kadalanan (Dancing In the Streets) is one event of the Kadayawan that attracted thousands of onlookers (locals and foreigners) all through the years. In this event, students or groups of dancer-participants showcase the costumes, dances, legends and myths of the indigenous tribes of Davao. The competition is quite stiff and big prizes are always at stake.
