My World#35 Indak-indak sa Kadalanan

There are several things to see in Davao City during August but the most popular is the Kadayawan festival which happens every third week of August. Several activities are lined up but the most anticipated events were the Indak-indak sa Kadalanan (streetdancing) and the floral float parade. Tourists and locals line up the city's designated main streets to see this exciting event.

Indak-indak sa Kadalanan (streetdancing) happens on the third Saturday of August every year while the floral float parade will happen the next day, Sunday. The streetdancing features indigenous dances of various indigenous tribes of the city and its surrounding areas. The participants are mostly students from grade school, high school and college levels wearing colorful, beautifully decorated and intricate indigenous costumes with similarly colorful props.

Great pics! I wish we had more such street shows. They will help to keep up the citizens' interest in local art forms.
